female body poses – deeply rooted
« River Goddess » was part of my research in 2018, along with « the tub ». The attitude looks very relaxed or even lascive, kind of Arcadia. It reminded me immediately of the pose of former ancient Greek sculptures named River Goddess. It is a body in its natural state long before civilisation came along. Although the ground is not visible in the drawings, the model is clearly grounded to it and relies on it. It is a promise for the future, as if everything can become possible and that is why I believe in the modernity of this pose today.
